Technology Desk Ahmedabad. The Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday launched an app to facilitate the visually impaired. Its name is Money App. This app will help the visually impaired to identify notes. The RBI has said that the Mobile Aided Note Identifier i.e. Money App will also work on offline mode once installed. This app can be downloaded from Android Play Store and IOS App Store. This app is completely free.
This app scans the note from the camera and informs the value of the note with audio in Hindi and English language. The central bank has said that this app does not provide evidence of the note being genuine or fake. The app has been launched by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and other officials on Wednesday.
The Reserve Bank of India has stated that Money App will be able to identify all new and old currency notes of Mahatma Gandhi series. Significantly, after demonetisation, some important changes have been made in the design of currency notes. Also, in the last few years, new notes of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 2000 rupees have also been issued by RBI.
